Model Club, PTCC earn first wins in U-16 Boys Cricket

Imphal, January 21 2020: Model Club, Chingamakha which went down to OSCAR, Paona Bazar in the previous match bounced back to beat CRAU, Khamnam Bazar by 19 runs while PTCC won by 86 runs against Blue Hawk in today's Group B league matches of the 2nd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2020.At Model Higher Secondary and Oriental College ground, Model Club piled up a total of meagre 118 runs for all wickets down in 28.1 overs but were successful in holding their rivals to 102 runs as Abhijen and Suson enjoyed three wickets hauls to put their rivals chase on check.

Model Club's innings after winning the toss was a poor show as Abhijen with 28 runs off 41 balls was the highest run getter for the team.

The other batsmen who posted double digit scores in this innings were Biyon (14) and Veeraj (12) .

T Nikhil was the best bowler to see in CRAU's line up as he managed 3 wickets and Sanatomba who got 5 overs too played fine and picked up two wickets providing 18 runs.

Oliver, Kh Prakash and H Joyhenba also found their names on the scoresheet for taking a wicket each.

I Nikhil gave CRAU a good start but his departure after scoring 33 runs off 43 balls proved to be a big blow as following order fell cheaply to Abhijen and Suson's bowling.

H Joyhenba and T Nikhil also added 12 and 11 runs respectively to CRAU's tally but the team were all out for 102 in 26.5 overs giving Model Club the first win.

Ishan of Model Club also claimed two wickets in this innings.

Abhijen who shone with both bat and ball was adjudged man of the match.

Meanwhile at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground, PTCC stacked up a modest 160 runs target for 3 wickets in 30 overs before easing to a huge 86 run victory as RK Bryan produced an impressive all round performance.

RK Bryon added 30 runs and Tanisq managed an unbeaten 32 runs to ensure PTCC post 159 runs.

Bidyasagar, Ganashyam and Nikhil of Blue Hawk managed a wicket each in this innings before coming across a nightmarish innings as PTCC's RK Bryon and Karnajit scalped three wicket each to give Blue Hawk a hard time.

In Blue Hawk's reply that concludes with 73 runs on the board in 26.3 overs, Safir was the higher run getter having 9 runs in his name followed by RK Nikhil's 8 and Ganashyam's 7 .

Anao of PTCC also piled up misery on Blue Hawk batsmen with his fine bowling and sealed two wickets while his team mate Sylvas managed a single.

RK Bryon was eventually named man of the match.
