Imphal, October 19 2026:
The All Manipur Taekwondo Association (AMTA) has appealed to all concerned organizations to exempt its scheduled programs from any ongoing shutdowns, in light of a series of events involving a 30-member delegation from South Korea that arrived in Imphal today.
In a press release, AMTA expressed heartfelt condolences over the tragic deaths of four individuals in two separate violent incidents in the State.
The association stated that it deeply sympathizes with the public sentiment following these unfortunate events and stands in solidarity with social causes.
However, emphasizing the larger interest of sports development, AMTA noted that the South Korean delegation is scheduled to participate in a series of promotional and developmental events running until October 23, it said.
To ensure the smooth execution of these vital sports activities during the delegation's stay in Imphal, the association has requested all stakeholders to grant an exemption from shutdowns for all Taekwondo-related programs.
