3rd Paona Memorial 9-A-Side State Level Football Tournament begins

Imphal, August 18 2024: The 3rd edition of Paona Memorial 9-A-Side State Level Football Tournament organised by EEO Lamding kicked off today at its ground.

The league cum knock-out tournament is featuring 20 teams clubbed into five groups.

The opening match (Group B) of the tournament saw Sangaiyumpham FC thump YVA, Wangjing by 2-0 goals.

Md Akhan opened the scoring for the Sangaiyumpham side in the 31st minute before Md Etaj Ahmed netted the decisive goal 1 minute into the stoppage time (50+1') .

The Group D opening match staged later in the day saw Endeavour FC and Anas FC, Kyamgei playing out a goalless draw to share a point apiece.
