MPSC-B, Black Watch PC, Chingkheihunba PC and X-Polo Club gallop into men's semi-finals

Imphal, December 15 2025: MPSC-B, Black Watch PC, Chingkheihunba PC, and X-Polo Club all advance into the men's semi-finals in the ongoing 2nd DGAR Polo Championships organised by the Assam Rifles in collaboration with the All Manipur Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.

In the first quarterfinal match of the tournament, MPSC-B edged out Assam Rifles Polo Team-A by 5-4 goals courtesy of Nongpoknganba's double in the final chukker.

MPSC-B took a 2-0 first chukker lead with Roshan and Abung Khuman scoring a goal apiece in the rapid fire fashion before Kuber pulled back a goal for AR Polo Team-A in the second chukker.

MPSC-B however retained the two goal advantage with Vikim Salam scoring the team's third in the second chukker but AR Polo Team-A equalised the margin through a goal each from Kuber and S Bon Bon in the third chukker before S Bon Bon overturned the lead in the same chukker.

Nongpoknganba however restored parity barely one minute into the fourth chukker before scoring the winning goal in the 2nd minute.

In the second quarterfinal match, Black Watch PC rode on five goals from Nongpoknganba, a treble from L Rohit and a solo from Alex Aheibam to knock out MPSC-A by 9-4 goals.

MPSC-A led the first chukker 2-0 but Nongpoknganba scored twice and Alex Aheibam and L Rohit added a goal apiece in the second chukker to turn things around.

Nongpoknganba scored his third and fourth goals in the third chukker against S Bimol's third to make it 6-3 before L Rohit scored twice and Nongpoknganba added one against one for MPSC-A by S Bimol in the final chukker.

Later in the third match, S Saolin scored thrice for Thangmeiband Youth PC but his effort went in vain Chingkheihunba PC came out 5-3 winners.

Th Kaoba and Leisemba put Chingkheihunba PC 2-0 up in the first chukker but Saolin drew level for the Thangmeiband side within four minutes of the second chukker before Th Kaoba retained the lead for the winners in the closing minute.

S Saolin then struck his third goal in the third minute of the third chukker but Leishemba added his second in the following minute to regain the lead once again.

O Rozer then took the honour to hit the winner in the first minute of the closing chukker.

Later in the last quarterfinal match, X-Polo Club prevailed 11-2 over Luwangpokpa PC as L Atangba scored five goals alone while P Ojit and L Kokeshwor added two goals apiece.

Th Jacob and Th Santosh also managed a goal apiece in the game as N Barun and K Jogendra added a goal each for Luwangpokpa PC.

MPSC-B will play Black Watch PC in the first semifinal match on December 18 before Chingkheihunba PC play X-Polo Club in the second semi-final match later in the day.
