Inter Village Football Tournament begins at Mantripukhri

Imphal, November 13 2019: An Inter Village Knock-Out Football Tournament has begun at Achanbigei Football Ground, Mantripukhri today under Civic Action Programme of 69 Bn CRPF for the year 2019-20.Altogether 8 teams from nearby villages are participating in the tournament which will conclude on November 16.The inaugural function was graced by Omkar Nath Singh, Commandant 69 Bn CRPF as chief guest who also adressed the public and highlighted the importance of the football and other sports activities.

" In order to cultivate high level of discipline and endurance, sports is most vital tool and football in in the blood of every Manipuri, " he said.

While informing that such a football tournament was organised by 69 Bn CRPF under the aegis of Manipur and Nagaland Sector, CRPF, he expressed confidence that the players featuring in the tourament will be able to feature in more higher level matches in future.

He also highlighted various sporting, welfare and development programmes taken up by CRPF earlier in remote as well as urban areas of the State and expressed that such programmes will in held in coming days too.

The opening match of the tournament witnessed MFA-B, Khabam outlasted KYFA, Koirengei by 3-1 goals.

Meanwhile in the second match, MFA-A edged out HUFA, Heingang by 2-1 goals, said a press release of 69 Bn CRPF.
