Boys U-14 One Day Trophy : NCA, SHADOW emerge Group A and D table toppers

NCA, Nambol and SHADOW, Thangmeiband emerged Group A and D table toppers with sweeping league stage victories in the 5th MNCA Boys U-14 One Day Trophy.
NCA cruised to their fourth Group A win today by thrashing SDO, Keirao Makting by 75 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground to go top of the table.
Thongam Rahul hit a 71-ball 112 studded with 19 fours and 2 fours while Lamnganba Thiyam hit a 63-ball 45 to pile up 228 runs for 5 wickets in 30 overs before Thongam Rahul picked four wickets (4/7 in 6 overs, Keisham Ropesh (3/45 in 6 overs) and M Thoithoiba (2/32 in 5 overs) dismantle SDO for 153 runs in 26 overs.
For SDO, Pukhrimayum Khurshid (3/44) was the pick of the bowlers before Tampakmayum Abdul Rahis 38 and Epham Lakibuddin 21 emerged the leading run getter.
Thongam Rahul who shone with an allround show was declared player of the match.
Elsewhere at Khudeiband Lampak, SHADOW sealed their third straight Group D victory by handing RULE, Meitram a 122-run defeat.
Asked to bat first, SHADOW raised 198/8 in 30 overs thanks to leading knocks from Sagatpam Telheiba, who struck 9 fours and 5 sixes on the way to his 63-ball 84, RK Tomthinnganba 30 off 30 balls and Aribam Ganaraj Sharma 26 not out off 32 balls.
N Pibarel (3/10 in 4 overs), RK Tomthinnganba (3/2 in 2 overs) and Sagatpam Telheiba (2/7 in 4 overs) then combined well to set up RULE collapse at 76 in 22 overs.
For RULE, Sapam Olympus enjoyed a fifer (5/17 in 6 overs) while Nongthombam Olex picked two (2/38 in 6 overs) but their efforts went in vain as Laishram Prabinson 18 not out 31 balls emerged as the only double digit run getter for the team.
Sagatpam Telheiba was adjudged player of the match.
The day also saw YAL, Thoubal Leishangthem beat CCK, Khongman by 8 wickets in a Group F match at Moijing Public Ground; PTRC, Patsoi Part IV thump WYC, Thoubal Wangkhem by 61 runs in a Group C match at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground; and TRAU, Kwakeithel upstage BKCC, Bamon Kampu by 72 runs in a Group B match at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground.
