Chandel 2nd Division Football Angkhel Chayang YCC, Mahamani YC progress into semis

Imphal, September 10 2025: Angkhel Chay ang YCC and Mahamani YC have advanced to the semifinals of the ongoing DC Chandel Trophy 2nd Division Football Tournament 2025 at Sports Complex, Chandel with quarterfinal victories today.

In the second quarterfinal match of the tournament staged this morning, Angkhel Chayang YCC edged out Panchai SCC by 4-3 goals.

Hmeyato's treble (38', 64', 69') for Panchai SCC went in vain as D George (19', 44') scored twice and D Renghon (34') and D Angpol (74') added a goal apiece to earn the hard-fought 4-3 win for Angkhel Chayang YCC.

In the third quarterfinal match staged later in the afternoon, Mahamani YC edged out Chandonpokpi DC 5-4 in a penalty shootout after the game ended 2-2 in regulation time.

Angsing's 24th-minute goal and Thangboi's 62nd-minute strike gave Mahamani YC an early advantage, but Chandonpokpi DC fought back through Sanathoi's 21st-minute goal and Sonam's stoppage-time equalizer in the 90+2 minute.

In the penalty shootout, Mahamani YC's Kingson, Punthahring, New Year, Thangboi, and Hitler converted their chances, securing a 5-4 win.

For Chandonpokpi DC, only Sonam, Lungam, Abel, and Joel scored in the shootout.
