SDC, KYC post comfortable wins in IW 1st Divn League Football

Imphal, August 10 2022: SDC, Samurou and KYC, Khurkhul won 3-1 and 4-1 respectively today in the ongoing 28 th L Sangita Devi Memorial 1st DivisionFootball League 2022 at SKYC ground, Awang Sekmai.

In the second match of the 8-team tournament organised by Imphal West District Football Association, BMSC, Taobungkhok and SDC were evenly poised in the first half to enter into the break goalless.

N Lanchenba, however, broke the deadlock two minutes into the second half (42) before Y Robinson doubled the advantage five minutes later.

BMSC's condition further deteriorated with S Yaiphaba scoring SKYCs third goal with a drilling shot in the 59th minute.

The Taobungkhok side managed to pull back a goal in the 65th minute thanks to H Binod effort but SDC did well to thwart all later challenges to go home 3-1 for the first win.

Later in the day, KYC started slowly to take a slender 1 -0 first half lead before easing to a 4-1 win against YAC, Yaiskul.

U Robert shone in this match as he scored the opener in the 22nd minute before completing his brace in the 56th minute and made it 2-0 for KYC.

KYC continued to exert pressure in search of more goals and were 3-0 up when L Rishikanta broke through the YAC defence line once more and rifled in a shot in the 66th minute.

Th Nicolas scored for YAC in the 70th minute to cut the gap but L Naobicha scored a last gasp goal (80+31) to hand KYC a huge 4-1 victory.

In the opening match of the tournament staged on August 8, YUC, Irom Meijrao beat YWC, Langthabal 3-1 .

IFC, Lamphel will play SCK, Kodompokpi in the next match on August 12 from 1 pm before YWC, Langthabal take on SDC, Samurou from 2.30 pm .
