UTA lead with 39 medals in 30th State Taekwondo C'ship

Imphal, February 09 2018: UTA bagged 12 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze medals on the second day to hold pole position of the tally with a total of 39 medals (18 Gold, 12 Silver and 9 Bronze medals) in the ongoing 30th Manipur State Taekwondo Championship 2017-18 organised under the aegis of All Manipur Taekwondo Association at Indoor Stadium Khuman Lampak.

The Championship is participated by a total of 409 players from 16 units including 287 boys and 122 girls in different age groups and weight categories.

Sub-Junior Boys .

In the sub junior boys 21 kg category event, L Rohit of HTA bagged the gold medal while A Roshan of UTA finished second to win the silver medal.

Pran Singh of Nambol unit and Deepak Rajkumar of UTA bagged bronze medal.

In the 25 kg category, L Surchandra of PTA fetched the gold while Kh Aeengbi of UTA bagged the silver medal.

Md Wakhir Rahman of Lillong and RK Leokanta of PTA bagged the bronze medals.

In the 29 kg category, A Prithiraj added a gold medal in UTA's tally and Marjing's Austin Thingujam claimed the silver medal.

Md Abdul Hafiz of Sora and W Nitish of UTA bagged the bronze medals.

Yoihenba of SAI-RC won the gold medal in the 44 kg category while L Rohit of Marjing bagged the silver medal.T Nirbas of Nambol unit and Kh Musafir of Sora unit claimed the bronze medals.

Sub-Junior Girls .

In the U-18 kg category for sub-junior girls, Th Thoibi fetch a gold medal for HIMS today.

In the U-22 kg category, Jayasana of Nambol beat G Chelsia of UTA to lay her hand on the gold medal while Th Jayajecy bagged a gold medal for NSA beating A Riya Chanu of UTA in the U-26 kg category.

UTA's H Yaifabi prevailed over her compatriot Kh Diana to add a gold and a silver to their unit in the U-41 kg category.

Cadet Girls .

In the cadet girls event played today, M Priyadarshini of UTA fetched a gold medal after overcoming S Priyarani of SAI-RC in the U-41 kg category final.

L Premlata of Nambol and T Dayashree of NSA claimed the bronze medals.

NSA bagged another gold medal through M Rima in the U-47 kg category while Sh Ghanapriya of CTI claimed the silver medal.

L Anjali and N Nganthoi of SAI-RC won the bronze medals in the category.

Cadet Boys.

Th John added another gold in UTA's tally after overcoming a tough fight against L Pradeep of SAI-RC in the U-37 kg category for cadet boys.

Jackson Yensembam of NSA won the gold in the U-45 kg category beating S Manoj of SAI-RC in the final.

L Jacky of SAI-RC bagged the bronze medal in this category.

In the U-53 kg final event, S Rohit of NSA got better of L Babulu of SAI-RC to win the gold medal while H Devjit of Marjing and L Bidyasagar of NSA bagged bronze medals.

Junior Girls .

Pujadash of CTI defeated O Anjali of UTA in the 44 kg final event for junior girls to add a gold medal to her unit while Bideshori of UTA claimed the bronze medal.

U Gunabati bagged the fifth gold medal for UTA in the U-49 kg category while Sapam Roshni of the same unit beat Kajal Meramayum of Lillong to win another gold medal in the U-55 kg category.

Junior Boys .

K Irabanta added another gold medal in the UTA's tally after beating S Sarat Meitei of SAI-RC in the U-48 kg category.

Maimom Devjit Singh of SAI-RC claimed the bronze medal of this category.

K Robertson Singh of UTA got better of NSA's Joychandra Khumancha to win the gold medal in the U-55 kg category while semi-finallists, RK Dhanajit of SAI-RC and Sh Bekham Meitei of PTA bagged the bronze medals.

In the U-63 kg category, M Lamyanba of SAI-RC bagged the gold medal while Ch Debraj and T Chinglemba of UTA claimed the silver and the bronze medals respectively.

Senior Boys .

M Jamesbond bag another gold medal for UTA in the U-58 kg category beating A Rishikanta of Nambol in the final.

S Langjing Meitei of UTA settled with bronze medal.

In the U-80 kg category, Kelvin Yumnam of UTA bagged the gold medal while H Manichandra of CTI bagged the silver medal.

W Kousar of Lilong and P Tejson of Nambol claimed the bronze medals.

Senior Girls.

Ak Debika of UTA beat her unit mate K Sabita in the U-49 kg category final to add a gold and a silver in their team's tally.

The last gold medal for UTA was claimed by K Naocha Devi in the U-67 Kg category beating Sonia of the same unit.

NSA are second in the medal tally with a total of 9 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals while SAI-RC are in the third position with a total of 21 medals including 5 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze medals.
