Diphu Nihang emerge Men's Open Basketball Tournament champs

Imphal, September 07 2025: Diphu Nihang team from Assam were crowned the champions of the Men's Open Basketball Tournament 2025 organised by Arambai Tenggol Unit 37 at Singjamei Chingamathak Hao ground.

The Assam team defeated Arambai Tenggol by 108-77 points yesterday night to seal the top honour of the tournament participated by 15 teams.

Winners were feted with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh as the runners up team settled for the cash prize of Rs 50,000 .

During the award ceremony, social worker and sponsor Ngangbam Robert handed over cash prizes to the winners, expressing gratitude to the sponsors, including Divinti Global Limited, Balaji Autos, Marsway ECCS Private Limited, KK Agro Trade Venture Private Limited, Balaji Solar System, Green Leaf Projects, and Looks East Nirman (Len), for their support in making the tournament a success.

Robert urged the youth to actively preserve the state's rich sporting culture and heritage.

He stated that the event aimed to promote sports among young people and contribute in producing more basketball players.

While expressing happiness in being part of the noble cause, Robert also assured that he would provide possible assistance for youth development and social upliftment programmes in the future.
