63rd State Badminton : Gunjan claims both U-11 and U-13 girls' singles title

Imphal, November 04 2018: K Gunjan emerged one of the finest players at the 63rd State Badminton Championships-2018 (Mini and Sub-Junior) organised by Manipur Badminton Association at Indoor Stadium in DM College Campus, as she claimed both U-l 1 and U-13 girls singles title today.

K Gunjan of Imphal East trounced T Leone 21-7, 21-6 to lay her hand on the U-ll girls singles title today while she overcame Sananu Maishnam 24-26, 21-9, 21-13 in the U-13 girls, singles final to fetch the second title.

Boys' singles U-11 title went to Kh Amarjit who defeated Shusanta Moirangthem 21-10, 21-17 in the final today.

Maticrohe of Imphal East claimed the U-13 boys singles' title beating H Malemnganba 21-16, 16-21, 27-25 in the final match today while U-15 boys title went to S Sirzeet of Imphal East who overcame Ch Ritish 21-9, 21-18 in the final today.

Girls' U-l5 singles title went to Imphal East's H Vilinda who pulled off an easy 21-9, 21-18 win over Moirangthem Priya in final.

Ksh Maheshwaari of Imphal East won the girls U-17 title beating L Diana of Imphal West 21-16, 21-18 in the final while the boys U-17 title was claimed by Y Punsiba who sealed a 21-12, 20-22, 21-12 win over RK Upananda in the final.

Doubles competition: In the U-13 boys doubles final, Amarjit and L Brikson combined well to seal a 16-21,21-12, 21-13 win over S Evirich and Th Debabrata to claim the title while H Rohenkumar and RK Ringson beat A Mangal and KNganba 13-21, 21-11, 21-14 to win the boys' U-l5 doubles title.

RK Upananda and Y Punsiba claimed the boys' U-17 boys title by defeating K Sandeep and Kh Bidyachanda 21-17, 9-21, 22-20 in the final.

The closing ceremony of the championship was graced by LM Khaute, DGP, Manipur, vice president Manipur Badminton Association and Thangjam Arunkumar, Proprietor Arun Enterprises who is also the president of NEROCA FC as dignitaries who also feted the players.
