SAI STC-I clinch Sepaktakraw title

Imphal, July 04 2024: SAI STC Imphal were crowned overall team champions of the All India Inter SAI Sepaktakraw Tournament 2024, which drew to a close at SAI STC Khuman Lampak on Thursday.

On the final day of the three-day-long competition, SAI STC Imphal continued their dominance by winning the junior boys' quad, junior girls' quad and women's double events for their well-earned overall championship title.

The SAI STC Imphal boys had to fight their way through four teams to reach the final of the boys' quad event on Thursday.

They started off with a 2-0 win over SAI STC Dimapur, and then beat SAI STC Delhi 2-0, SAI STC Bareilly 2-1 and KIC Imphal East.

In their summit clash, SAI STC Imphal outdid SAI STC Bareilly 2-0 .

On the other hand, the SAI STC Imphal girls beat KIC Imphal East by the same margin (2-0) in their quad event final.

Also in the women's double event final, SAI STC Imphal registered a dominant 15-8, 15-12 victory against KIC Imphal East.

Earlier on Wednesday, SAI STC Imphal made a clean sweep of all three finals of the day by winning the men's double event, junior boys' regu event and junior girls' regu event.

On the opening day of the tournament on Tuesday, SAI STC Imphal won the women's team event after beating KIC Imphal East 2-0 in their title clash.
