Boys U14 One Day Trophy : RCA, KSDO, SHADOW and AMCA get off to winning start

RCA, Lilong; KSDO, Kyamgei; SHADOW, Thangmeiband and AMCA, Thoubal got off to flying starts in the 5th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy.
In the Group E opener staged at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College ground, AMCA upstaged PTCC, Patsoi Part III by 30 runs.
AMCA, who elected to bat first, bundled out for 136 runs in 30 overs but they defended their total by bowling out PTCC for 106 runs in 24.2 overs riding on a concerted bowling effort led by Sahid Khulakpam (3/7 in 2.2 overs) and Md Wajid Khan (2/27 in 6 overs).
AMCA's Sahid Khulakpam had earlier struck 43 runs off 56 balls and eventually walked away as the player of the match while Sakir Maibam was unbeaten on 38 off 48 balls.
For PTCC, Nungchengba Soraisam (3/17), Lanngamba Ningombam (2/16) and Irom Lanchenba (2/17) shone with the ball before Nungchengba topscored with a 37-ball 40 in reply.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, KSDO kicked off their Group C campaign with a 169-run victory against PTRC, Patsoi Part IV courtesy of Khutheibam Abu Sufiyan's allround show.
Opting to bat first, KSDO piled up a massive total of 257 runs for 7 wickets in 30 overs courtesy of leading knocks from Abu Sufiyan who hit 109 off 72 balls (16 fours and 3 sixes) and Sangomsumpham Arish who struck 67 off 58 balls (9 fours) before Abu Sufiyan picked 6 wickets (6/22) and Kh Firdos claimed two (2/24) to dismiss PTRC for 88 runs.
For PTRC, Pheiroijam Tomthilnganba claimed two (2/36) as four others managed a wicket apiece in the first innings before Ch Ghoutam 17 and Thongam Priyojit 13 emerged the double digit run getters in reply.
Abu Sufiyan was eventually adjudged player of the match.
At Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong, RCA kicked off their Group B campaign with an 187-run thrashing of TRAU, Kwakeithel.
Heibokmayum Albaz Hussain was unbeaten on 70 as he blazed 9 fours and 5 sixes in just 18 balls to help RCA gather 312 runs for 4 wickets after Syed Sami UI 50 off 44 and Heibokmayum Lucky 73 off 41 provided early stability.
Chasing 313 runs for the win, TRAU ended up gathering 125/8 in 30 overs despite Keisham Yaikhomba trying his best to anchor with an unbeaten 55 off 96 runs as none of his compatriots were able to support him.
Makakmayum Irfan (3/14) and Khutheibam Murshid Alam (2/21) played key roles in the RCA bowling department in this innings.
H Lucky Ahmed, who also picked one wicket after adding 73 runs, was named player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, SHADOW opened their Group D campaign with a 146-run victory over YESSDAN, Ningthoukhong.
Sagatpam Telheiba scored an unbeaten 191 off 97 balls (23 fours and 10 sixes) while Tomthinnganba Rajkumar scored 80 off 74 balls (9 fours and 1 six) to guide SHADOW to a daunting total of 352/2 in 30 overs before Khundrakpam Hemraj (2/40 in 5 overs) led in restricting YESSDAN to 206/6 despite Maisnam Anderson's 112-ball 94 and Wangkhem Alex's 40-ball 46 .
Telheiba, who shone with the bat and claimed one wicket (1/19), was declared player of the match.
