CRPF to conduct 10 km marathons in parts of Manipur

In an effort to promote peace, development, physical fitness and a healthy society through sports, different battalions of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are organising 10 km marathons across the State under the aegis of the IG Manipur and Nagaland Sector.
The 69 Bn CRPF is all set to organise three such marathons in Imphal East and Imphal West under the Khelo India's Sports for Peace and Development initiative.
First of such a marathon will be held at Headquarters 69 Bn CRPF on September 5 before B/69 Bn and A/ 69 Bn host the distance run from Kangla Western Gate and Malom IOCL on September 8 and 11 .
120 Bn CRPF, meanwhile, will organise similar events at Phayeng, Koutruk and New Keithelmanbi as 232 (M) Bn CRPF gears up to host the same event from Football Ground/ Presidency College Ground, Motbung, Kangpokpi on September 5; 156 Bn CRPF at Jiribam (Irabot Chowk to DC Office to Irabot Chowk) on September 5 and 8 Bn CRPF at Leimaram-Waroiching, Bishnupur, Chothe Bishnupur, Naranseina and Tokpa Kabui-Loktak.
Except for the Kangpokpi run (organised by 232 (M) Bn) that is open to only 18 and 18+ women, the run is open to all who are 18 years and above.
It is learnt that first 100 participants in all the runs across the State will be provided with an event T-Shirt.
Top three athletes will be feted with cash prize of Rs 10,000; Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,000 respectively and registration can be done at respective battalions as per different press releases issued by organising CRPF battalions.
CRPF battalions concerned also appealed to all to participate in the runs enthusiastically and make the events a grand success.
