22nd Governor's Cup State Level Fencing C'ship : K Prithibiraj, T Mangaleibi stretch Imphal East's gold medal tally to 22

Imphal, August 01 2026: K Prithibiraj and T Mangaleibi further stretched runaway leaders Imphal East's medal gold medal tally on the fourth day of the 22nd Governor's Cup State Level Fencing Championship 2026 being underway at YAS Fencing Hall, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

K Prithibiraj got the better of compatriot Kh Rajiv in the Junior Boys's Foil event final today to win the gold medal as K Lamyanba of Imphal East and Chandel's Ratankumar shared the bronze medal podium.

T Mangaleibi meanwhile overcame H Tonibia in another all Imphal East Junior Girls' Foil event final today.

Imphal East's Ng Merina and L Thoithoi of Imphal West bagged bronze medals in this competition.

Sh Zeniith of Chandel meanwhile picked the Junior Boys' Epee event gold medal as he beat Ramakanta Sharma of Bishnupur in the final as Kakching's N Nelson and Ukhrul's L Deepu Khuman settled for the bronze medal.

Imphal West senior women dominate Epee and Sabre events

The day also saw Imphal West senior women fencers producing top notch performances to seal gold medals in Epee and Sabre competitions.

M Stella beat H Linthoi of Imphal East to win the Epee gold as Nelcyrose of Thoubal and L Chinglembi of Imphal East settled for the bronze medals.

L Abi meanwhile beat Imphal East's Th Puspa for the Sabre gold as P Ambika and Babydaina, both representing Imphal East had to content with the bronze medals.

At the end of the day, Imphal East remained on top of the tally with 22 gold, 16 silver and 29 bronze medals as Imphal West followed in the second spot with 4 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.
