Imphal, November 29 2025: Sovi Jajo of MKBA produced a dominating performance to seal the Elite Women's 60 kg category gold medal in the ongoing 3rd Governor's Cup Boxing Championships at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

Sovi Jajo overwhelmed Huidrom Ambeshori 5-0 via unanimous decision in a one sided final bout to win the gold medal.

U-15 Boys

The day also saw the completion of 10 final bouts for different weight categories of U-15 boys.

Pheiroijam Bigson of MKBA notched up the 67 kg category title with an RSC (Referee Stops Contest) win over Khamnam Rojesh of SAI-Utlou in the final clash as Thokchom Nitish of PKBA won the 64 kg category title by defeating Oinam Santiraj 4-1 via split decision in the title clash.

MKBA's Lukram Lilmani meanwhile claimed the 61 kg category title with an overwhelming 5-0 victory over SRBA's Shangmei Khayi.

Ningthoukhongjam Robash of NSA (40 kg), Huidrom Malem of SRBA (43 kg), Naoram Fajaba of NSA (46 kg), Nongmaithem Thoithoiba of SRBA (49 kg), Thangjam Jerison of NSA (52 kg), Wangkheirakpam Mahesh of MKBA (55 kg) and RK Athoisana of MBA (58 kg) also emerged winners in their respective categories.

U-17 Boys

Angom Yubraj of SAI-Utlou meanwhile earned the U-17 boys' 75 kg category title with a 4-1 win over Kh Jeckson of PKBA in the final today.

Earlier in the 70 kg title clash, Leimapokpam Mahesh of PKBA earned the top honour without breaking a sweat as Chongtham Selvas of PBA did not turn up.

Yengkhom Abinash of SAI-Imphal in the meantime sealed a 3-2 win over S Punshiba of PKBA to earn the 66 kg category title.

SBA's Thongam Rishav (46 kg), Gershom Awungshi of MKBA (52 kg), Laishangbam Uningba of MKBA (54 kg), Laishram Lanthoiba of MKBA (57 kg), Karung Albertson Kom of MKBA (60 kg), and Khundom Lanchenba of NSA (63 kg) also won gold medals in their respective weight categories.

U-19 Boys

MKBA's Moirangthem Kabiraj sealed the 70 kg category gold medal in the U-19 Boys competition by handing N Prabin of PKBA a 3-2 defeat before Takhellambam Heliyon of NBA sealed the 75 kg category gold by registering a 5-0 win over PBA's S Rakesh in the final.

Elite Men

The day also witnessed SRBA's Leimapokpam Rahul prevailing 5-0 over MPT's Huidrom Baskar to earn the Elite Men's 80 kg category title after Shagolsem Binodchandra of MSBA sealed a 4-1 win over Aribam Sakil of PBA to seal the 75 kg category title.

The 65 kg category meanwhile went to MKBA's Ningthoujam Rohit who edged Konjengbam Roshan of SRBA 3-2 in the final as SRBA's Khumukcham Rajesh thumped MPT's P Mukundash and MSBA's Laishram Bilotson thrashed Chungneireng M Kom of MKBA 4-1 for the 55 kg and 60 kg category titles respectively.

U-15 Girls

SRBA's Lairenjam Sujen won the U-15 Girls' 55 kg category title as she outpunched UYDC's L Subhaluxmi 5-0 as Naorem Suma of SAI-Imphal bagged the 52 kg category title by registering a similar win against NSA's S Soma.

Meinam Milky of NSA and Sarangthem Linthoi of SRBA meanwhile clinched the 46 and 49 kg category gold medals by defeating their rivals.
