I-League 3: Late own goal proves costly as Mumbay FC hold TRAU Football Club to 2-2 draw

Imphal, April 28 2026: TRAU FC fumbled in the fag end to play out a 2-2 draw against Mumbay FC today in the Group B opening match of the I-League 3 this morning at SAI Turf Ground.

The hosts were leading 2-1 with a late 89th minute goal but an own goal by Shitaljit Atom in the first minute of the stoppage time forced the team to share a point apiece with the visitors.

TRAU FC broke the deadlock early in the 11th minute when Biplob Dey made a clinical finish before Nandha Kumar Ananthraj netted the equaliser for Mumbay FC in the 51st minute.

With the competition open yet again, the two sides fought hard to find the difference until TRAU FC's Moirangthem Diya Singh converted a fine chance into a goal.

Mumbay FC, however, responded quickly and pressed hard to settle the score and their efforts paid off as Shitaljit Atom fumbled to net into his net.

TRAU FC did their best to mount their way back but time ticked fast and eventually the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

TRAU FC will play Zinc Football Academy in the next match on May 2 at the same venue.

KLASA, Keinou will play Chhaygaon FC, Kamrup in a Group C match tomorrow at Mulna Football Stadium, Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh.
