Imphal, April 27 2026: Manipur U-14 boys and girls have made the State proud by clinching both the titles at the National School Games Sepaktakraw hosted by Telangana in Mahabubad since April 24 .

State boys and girls produce commanding performances throughout the tournament to deservingly culminate with the top honours.

In the boys competition final, Manipur defeated Bihar in straight sets (15-8, 15-9) while the girls notched up an easy 15-7, 15-7 win against Uttar Pradesh to script the historic achievement.

The State boys reached the final yesterday with a convincing 15-6, 15-7 win over Nagaland.

Earlier in the quarterfinals, Manipur saw off Delhi 15-9, 15-3.Notably, Manipur defeated Uttar Pradesh (15-4, 15-6) and Telangana (15-7, 15-6) in straight sets to make themselves into the quarterfinals.

The girls meanwhile reached the final yesterday with an impressive 15-4, 15-5 thrashing of Bihar after defeating Punjab 15-11, 15-12 in the quarterfinals.

They qualified for the quarterfinals courtesy of back to back wins against Uttar Pradesh (15-3, 15-12) and Telangana (15-9, 15-5) in the league stage.

The State teams were managed by Oinam Nganthoiba along with L Romabati Devi (Graduate PET) as boys' coach and N Sunita (PET) as girls' coach.
