Eight National Games medallists from Bishnupur felicitated

Bishnupur, February 27 2025:
The district administration Bishnupur and the Bishnupur District Olympic Association jointly felicitated eight National Games medal winners from the district today.
The felicitation ceremony held at the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat complex, Bishnupur celebrated the outstanding achievements of the athletes across different events.
The eight medal winners of the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14 include H Robinson Singh, Th Jodhajit Singh, A Sanayaima Singh, O Bidyapati Chanu, Haobijam Tendenthoi, Thangjam Priya Devi, Chinglemba Singh and Lamabam Nilam Devi.

H Robinson Singh won a gold in the 52 Kg category Wushu.
Th Jodhajit Singh won silver in 85 Kg category Wushu.
A Sanayaima Singh won silver in 65 Kg category Wushu.
O Bidyapati Chanu won bronze in 56 Kg category Wushu.
Haobijam Tendenthoi won bronze in W2x2000M Rowing.
Thangjam Priya Devi won bronze in W2x2000M Rowing.
Chinglemba Singh won bronze in 51 Kg category Boxing.
Lamabam Nilam Devi won bronze in 55 Kg category Weightlifting.
The medal winners were presented with Lengyan, bouquet and cash awards by Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur Lourembam Bikram and District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer Yumkhaibm Ibeyaima Devi.
DC Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram commended the achievements, noting that the felicitation was a step towards motivating the young talents.
He praised the dedication of the athletes and the sports associations in the district for their contributions.
The district has an abundance of talented athletes who are ready to learn and grow.
It is the responsibility of the district administration to continue providing them with the support they need and enable them to reach their full potential, he said.
The DC reaffirmed the district administration's commitment to supporting sports and young athletes.
Yumkhaibm Ibeyaima Devi, DYASO Bishnupur, expressed her admiration for the athletes' commitment and achievements.
She acknowledged the challenges each athlete had overcome and emphasized that their success is a result of discipline and dedication.
"Despite obstacles, these athletes have shown great determination and their achievements inspire us," she said.
She also highlighted the importance of grassroots-level support in identifying and nurturing more sporting talent for the future.
She urged all stakeholders to come together to create opportunities for more athletes from the district to shine on the National and international stage.
The programme was attended by District Manager DIT Oinam Prashanta, officials and members of the Bishnupur District Olympic Association.
