Imphal, September 25 2010: NISA, Thangmeiband held TRAU, Kwakeithel to a 1-1 draw in the former's first leg home match in the 5th Manipur State League Football Tournament at Mapal kangjeibung today.

The otherwise keenly contested tie was marred by shoving and pushing at the fag end of the match as TRAU players protested a penalty award to the rivals which was followed by a rough tackle against L Nabachandra, who ensured a point for the Thangmeiband side by converting the penalty two minutes into injury time.

TRAU opened the score through Lunminlal Khongsai's direct kick from the right side of the penalty area in the 18th minute.

The NISA equaliser resulted from a penalty award conceded by S Piba for handling the ball inside the restricted zone.

Even though TRAU players took the field after a brief protest the second incident nearly led to an ugly situation as the match official was heckled by the players for booking the offender.

Meanwhile, the 14th State Sub Junior Boys Inter District football tournament also ended in a draw as DSA, Kakching and DSA, Bishnupur split points after a 2-2 stalemate at the same venue.

both the Kakching goals were scored by K Guneshor (15th, 51st) while K Gunem (16th) and N Ramesh (36th) netted the Bishnupur goals.

In the MK Ghanendrajit (IE) Super Division Football League Tournament played today at Khuman Lampak Sports Stadium, KIYC, Kshetri iril Mapal and PYA, Kairang settled for a 2-2 draw.

KIYC raced to a 2-0 lead through Nawaz Khan (29th) and Y Jagat (36th) as PYA staged the comeback with goals from Romi (76th) and Romen (80th).In the M Ibobi Singh (IE) Division I football league tournament also played at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Shimray (11th), Pandum (15) and Jaison (80+2) scored in UDO's 3-1 triumph against SWC for whom K Prem struck in the 69th minute.
