Bishnupur clinch U-15 & U-17 Subroto titles

Imphal, June 25 2024:
Bishnupur district, on Tuesday, celebrated a double victory as Utlou Government High School and TG English School, representing the district, won the 63rd State Level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2024 for Boys in the U-15 and U-17 categories respectively.
The tournament, organised by Youth Affairs and Sports Department, commenced on June 20 at Langjing Achouba Turf Ground and SAI NERC Takyelpat ground.
In the U-17 final, TG English School faced off against City Higher Secondary School, Mayang Imphal on Tuesday with the former emerging victorious at 1-0, when Timer netted the decisive goal in the 43rd minute.
The U-15 final saw Utlou Government Model High School defeating Khangsinlung Higher Secondary School, Noney 4-1 in penalty shootout after a goalless draw.
Raju Bikash, Bruce Lee, and Marjesh converted for Utlou, while W Dinson netted the only goal for the Khangsinlung School.
Both victorious teams from Bishnupur will represent Manipur in the national Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament.
Meanwhile, in the U-17 girls' competition, Imphal East, Chandel, Noney, and Imphal West scripted victorious in their respective matches on Tuesday.
The girls' tournament began on Monday at the said venues.
Imphal East trounced Thoubal 13-0 with Martina scoring five goals, while L Neera contributed four goals.
The other scorers were Rani, Monika, Sylvia, and Tania.
Chandel also recorded a one-sided 7-0 victory over Kakching, led by Nandini W Gracemi's five goals, as SR Ningshing (30th and 40th minutes) chipped in with two.
In another match, Noney secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Bishnupur, powered by Nandini s brace and one from Raya Muivah.
Imphal West outplayed Kamjong 13-0 with Thoithoi opening the score in the 3rd minute, followed by goals from Agni, Menaka, and Lakhipyari.
The action-packed day concluded with Imphal East securing another convincing 7-0 win as Kamjong suffered second defeat of the day.
Lanchenbi was the star performer with four goals, while Martina, Alva, and Monika contributed a goal each.
