RCA, YWC stretch winning run in 1st U-23 Men's Haobam Biramangol Memorial Cricket Tourney

RCA, Lilong and YWC, Langthabal cruised to their second straight victories today in the ongoing 1 st Haobam Biramangol Memorial U-23 Men's Cricket Tournament organised by the Manipur Cricket Association.
RCA handed PTRC, Patsoi IV second straight group (A) stage defeat at Lairenjam Public ground by defending a total of 268/10 which they gathered in 39.2 overs after put in to bat first.
Zamir Khan hogged all the limelight in this match as he scored highest 86 off 81 balls to inspire RCA a commendable total before he enjoyed a two wicket haul to set up PTRC batting collapse at 89 in 22 overs.
Aziz Mirza 44, Imran Khan 39 and Naesh Hussain 37 also batted sensibly for RCA in an innings that saw Khaidem Joyraj pick two and five others claim one wicket apiece for PTRC.
Chasing 269 for the win, PTRC had a slow but positive start but Danish Khan marked the turnaround by removing Pheiroijam Jotin for 19 runs at 46 before Naesh Hussain got rid of Salam Richie 22 to reduce the team to 58/2 after 13.1 overs.
PTRC never recovered as Naeesh and Zamir combined well to share four wickets in the latter part of the innings to fold up the chase at 89.Naesh returned with the best figures of 3/12 while Zamir finished with the figures of 2/15 to earn the man of the match accolade.
Elsewhere at Model HSS and Oriental College ground, Model Club slumped to third straight group (C) stage loss as YWC defended a modest total of 177/10 riding on Soubam Robinson's impeccable bowling performance.
Soubam Robin had earlier scored highest 46 off 55 balls to resurrect YWC innings after they were reduced to 103/6 in 25.2 overs by Model Club.
Seram Robinson 31, Yenshembam Vivek 24, Nepram Herojit 15 and Ngangbam Bingson 15 also managed double digit runs for YWC in their innings that witness Biyon Naorem (3/ 43), N Bisal (2/29) and Ronald Ningombam (2/28) shared seven wickets for Model Club.
Model Club's Y Suson and N Dibak also claimed a wicket apiece before they faced stiff opposition from YWC bowlers.
Soubam Robinson enjoyed a four wicket haul (4/7 in 3.4 overs) in this innings while Y Chingkhei (2/20) and S Dailish (2/12) picked two wickets apiece.
Th Deepak 18, Biyon 18, Irungbam Tonton 17, N Ronald 10 and Y Suson 10 managed to score meagre two digit runs in the Model Club's innings as four batters departed on duck.
Soubam Robinson was eventually adjudged player of the match.
