Shri Shri Radha Govinda Yoga Centre athletes, who won medals at the 6th All India Rhythmic Yogasana Championship held from August 14 to 16 at North 24 Parganas in West Bengal, were accorded a warm reception today at Uripok Yambem Leikai office of the centre.
The centre fielded 28 athletes in the championship organised by West Bengal Yoga Culture Association under the aegis of the All India Yoga Culture Federation while four attended as officials, said the centre in a press statement.
The centre athletes returned as overall runners up with a haul of 6 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals at the championship, it said.
The reception programme was attended by M Takhellei Singh, president of the centre; Ch Birendra, vice president; Th Selungba, treasurer and M Ibopishak, chief instructor as presidium members, it added.
Sukumar Longjam (10-15 yrs), Maibam Sanahanbi (55-65 yrs), Wahengbam Priyokumar (55-65 yrs), K Leimatombi (65 yrs and above) and S Ratankumar (65 yrs+) won gold medals in Traditional Yogasana event as Ng Deviyarani clinched a gold medal in the Rhythmic event for 30 yrs and above women, it said.
