AMHLL, MLKTTCS pay tribute to Anglo-Manipuri War heroes

Imphal, April 23 2026: Thang-Ta bodies in Mampur paid rich tribute to Anglo-Manipuri War heroes on the occasion of Khongjom Day.

As a part of the Statewide Khongjom Day observance, Apunba Manipur Huyen Lanlong Lup (AMHLL) and the Mangang, Luwang, Khuman, Thang-Ta and Cultural Sindamsang (MLKTTCS) paid homage to State heroes who made supreme sacrifices in the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891.AMHLL, in a press release, said that the body paid highest Huyen Lanlong salute to the patriots, who fought against the British with a steadfast resolve in the 1891 war.

Sintakpurel, Sintakpa and other Thang-Ta experts from across the State and functionaries of AMHLL paid floral tribute to all the heroes at the occasion, it said.

MLKTTCS observed the day in a low-key fashion at its Khongman Mangjil premises this afternoon in the presence of gurus, instructor, secretary and artistes of the institute.

The bravery and selflessness of the brave forefathers were recalled during the event, said MLKTTCS in a press release.

The observants also paid floral tribute to the photo of eminent patriots of Manipur, it said.
