9th MNCA Elite Tournament : N Thoiba smashes ton, L Kishan picks 6 as CYCLONE steamroll ESU by 217 runs

CYCLONE, Thangmeiband rode on Ningthoujam Thoiba and Kishan Laishram to overwhelm ESU by 217 runs for their 7th win in 8 matches of the ongoing 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2024-25 .
ESU opted to field first at Moijing Public Ground this morning only to see CYCLONE erect a monumental total of 319 runs for 6 wickets in 40 overs as Ningthoujam Thoiba smacked a ton (101 off 113 balls), and Md Al Bashid and Nongthombam Denin hit half centuries starred with an unbeaten 55 off just 15 balls.

ESU then slumped to 102 all out in 23.5 overs as Kishan Laishram spun web around their batters and returned with an exemplary bowing figures of 6/27 in his spell of 6.5 overs.
Earlier in the first innings, Thoiba clobbered 14 fours and 2 sixes on the way to his 101 while Muhammed Al Bashid hit 9 fours and 2 sixes on the way to his 56-ball 74 and Denin struck 7 sixes and 2 fours on the way to his quickfire 55 off 15 balls.
Chongtham Mehul Shreth (3/56 in 7 overs) and Lourembam Dipu (2/62) shared five wickets for ESU in this innings before they fell flat at 102 within 23.5 overs as Kishan ran riot.
Hanjabam Donba 24 and Sanatomba 21 were the leading run getters for ESU in the chase that also saw Md Aqeel, N Denin, Suraj Nong, and L Santosh chipping in with a wicket apiece for CYCLONE.
Kishan Laishram who shone with a six wicket haul was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, SCCC prevailed over KCC, Kongba Bazar by 148 runs.
Put in to bat first, SCCC amassed 221 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 40 overs thanks to leading performances from Basant (41 off 47 balls), Moirangthem Thomas (39 off 40 balls), Khwairakpam Ullenyai (26 off 36 balls) and Khaidem Lishan (25 off 22 balls) .
They then bowled out KCC for 73 runs in 25.2 overs to seal the huge win today riding on concerted bowling efforts from Bikash Singh (3/4 in 4.2 overs), Hidangmayum Rakeshwor Republic (2/16 in 4 overs), Khaidem Joyraj (2/13 in 6 overs) and Khaidem Lishan (2/17 in 7 overs) .
For KCC, Tayenjam Tomba (3/38 in 8 overs) and Nameirakpam Arbin (3/29 in 7 overs) shared 6 wickets in the first innings before their batting department faltered badly in the chase.
Bikash Singh who led the SCCC bowling attack was declared player of the match.
