28th State Youth Basketball Championship : ESU, Youth Club post third win in boys competition

ESU, Wangkhei scripted third Group B win in the 28th State Youth Basketball Championship for boys as Youth Club ended their Group A campaign with third victory today at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court.
John Kenedy struck 22 points in ESU's 44-20 win against St Xavier's School, Majuron today as Mangal and Rishanta added 6 and 5 points respectively.
Malemnganba, Chingkheinganba, Satish and Talheiba also added 2 points apiece in this match for ESU.
For St Xavier's School, Ph Ningailung scored three triples today to top the scoring on 9 points as Leo Kamei added 4 points, Gaicheamlung added 3 points and Gairam Kamei and Leo Kamei added 2 points apiece.

In a Group A match staged in the morning, Model Club opened their winning account after two successive losses by beating YWC-Malom 44-11 .
Telheiba topscored for Model Club adding 28 points as Th Sotin and N Jackin added 6 points apiece and N Lanchenba and W Devraj added one point apiece.
H Angamba also scored two points in Model Club's victory.
For YWC-M, Lucky scored 4 points as Dhanajit, Kenwis and Dhanajit scored 2 points apiece and Nikhil added one point.
In another Group A match staged in the evening, Youth Club, Uripok thumped Sainik School 58-43 for the third win in four matches and to keep their semi-final hopes alive.
Wilson starred for the Uripok team in this match scoring 28 points on the back of 2 triples as Y Benjamin added 15 points.
Taibanganba (7 pts), Lanchenba (4 pts), Bhusan (2 pts) and Bishwanand (2 pts) also found their names on the scoresheet for the winning side.
For Sainik School, Daniel and Priyanas led the scoring with 15 and 13 points respectively as Mangal, Jacob and Arjun picked four points apiece and Sheetal added 3 points.
In another Group B match, YOSC, Khurai pulled off a 46-20 win over BDBA, Bishnupur to open their winning account after back to back losses.
Sanson shone with 21 points in this match followed by Biranjan with 12 points.
Ronald and Lanchenba also added 4 points apiece as Groson and Tomthin added 3 and 2 points respectively.
For the Bishnupur team, Suryajeet scored 8 points as Srinivash added 4 points and Shivason, Inunganba and Dimson scored two points apiece.
