YASTA-A emerge champions of ASMITA Sepaktakraw League in Thoubal

Thoubal, August 22 2026: The Khelo India ASMITA Sepaktakraw League 2026 hosted by Thoubal District Sepaktakraw Association under the aegis of the All Manipur Sepaktakraw Association at Thoubal Kshetri Leikai came to a close today with YASTA-A as the league winners.

As YASTA-A walked away with the top honours, SSDC finished runners to seal the silver medal and YASTA-B settled for the second runners up place to content with a bronze medal.

In the final match of the 2-day competition, YASTA-A got the better of SSDC 17-16, 17-14 to deservingly seal the gold.

Earlier in the league round, SSDC beat YASTA-B 15-13, 15-12 before beating NYC 15-10, 15-13 for the second win.

In the third match, SYDA beat YASTA-B 13-15, 15-10,15-09 before ending SSDC's winning streak by handing a 15-10,13-15, 15-07 defeat in the fourth match.

In the fifth match, YASTA-B broke the losing run by beating NYC 15-09, 15-11 before SSDC sealed their third win in the 6th match of the tournament by beating SRU 15-10,13-15, 15-11 .

In the 7th match, YASTA-A opened their account by defeating SRU 15-08, 15-11 before getting better of SSDC 15-11, 15-12 in the 8th match.

YASTA-B then defeated SRU 15-12,15-12 in the following match before YASTA-A earned their third win on the trot with a 15-07, 15-10 over NYC before prevailing 15-11,13-15,15-12 over YASTA(B) in the next match.

In the 12th match, SYDA bounced back with a 15-10, 17-15 win over NYC before SRU beat NYC 15-13, 15-10 in the following match.

YASTA-A then overwhelmed SYDA 15-07,15-12 for the fifth win on the trot and finished as league winners.

SYDA then capped their league campaign with a 17-14,17-15 win over SRU and made themselves in the top four finish.

In the first semi-final match, YASTA-A beat SYDA 15-10,15-09 to book their place in the final before SSDC outlasted YASTA-B 15-12,15-10 in the other semi-final match to complete the final line up.

In the third place encounter, YASTA-B overcame SYDA 15-05,15-06 .

The closing function of the competition was attended by Konsam Michael, retd Assistant director of SAI, NERC Takyel; W Jiten, president All Manipur Sepaktakraw Association; Deven Moirangthem, District Youth Affairs and Sport Officer, Thoubal; Mutum Mani Singh, president Thoubal District Olympic Association among others as dignitaries.
