3rd MNCA Women's T-20 Trophy underway

Imphal, May 22 2025: The 3rd edition of MNCA Women's T-20 Trophy 2024-25 got underway yesterday at two venues.

As many as 8-teams clubbed into two groups are participating in the tournament.

The opening day saw THAU, Thangmeiband registering a 10-wicket win against PTCC, Patsoi Part III in a rain affected match at Kongba Dhobi Lampak while the other match scheduled at THAU ground between AKSDO, Khangabok and PTRC, Patsoi Part IV was abandoned due to rain.

At Kongba, THAU won the toss and restricted PTCC to 65/9 after opting to field first.

Chasing 66 for the win, THAU were 41/0 after 5.4 overs when rain interrupted and the target was revised to 37 in 9 overs via DLS method.

Eventually THAU emerged winners by 10 wickets.

Only Laishram Bigyapati 13 off 39 balls and Bandana 17 not out off 21 balls were the only double digit run scorers for PTCC today as Ahongsangbam Thoithoibi (2/11) and Brahmacharimayum Setemy (2/15) led the bowling charge for THAU .

Haorungbam Kiranbala (1/14), Yambem Milan (1/4), Kongjengbam Nonibala (1/6) and Naoroibam Sophiya (1/15) were also among the wickets for THAU before Kalpana (30 off 22 balls; 3 fours and 1 six) and Thokchom Ronibala (9 off 12 ball; 1 four) forged an unbeaten 41-run opening wicket partnership.

Keisham Kalpana was adjudged player of the match.
