Manipur team for Junior Girls' NFC announced, to meet Chhattisgarh in league opener

Imphal, August 20 2026: The All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has announced the State team ahead of the Dr Talimeran Ao Junior Girls' National Football Championship (Tier I) 2026-27 beginning on September 10 .

The athletes who made it to the State team for the championship that will be held at Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh are as follows.

Goalkeepers : L Sonia of YWC-L and Linthoi Thongam of FC Imphal;

Defenders : W Lanthoi of KRYPHSA, Shilpa Thounaojam of YWC-L, Prativa Namram of YWC-L, I Diana of ICSA, Mangaleibi Irom of MUFA, T Ashalata of YWC-L, Joyner Khundrakpam of MUFA;

Midfielders : Dasila Senjam of Khuman FA, S Lanchenbi of MUFA, L Linthoi of YWC-Th, Th Victoria of ESU, O Bisheshori of ICSA, S Ronika of YWC-Th, T Rejia of ICSA and M Preety of UPSA;

Forwards : Agunwangliu of YWC-Th, Rinchuila Gangmei of KRYPHSA and M Narmada of KRYPHSA .

The players should report at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong on August 22, 2026 at 7 am, said AMFA in a memorandum issued in this regard.

Notably, Manipur are drawn in Group A alongside Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala and will play Chhattisgarh in the opening match on September 10 from 9 am .

Manipur will then play Uttar Pradesh on September 12 from 9 am in the second league match before playing Kerala on September 14 from 3 pm .

In all, 15 teams clubbed into four groups are participating in the tournament and the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals before the final match slated for September 25 .
