Imphal, March 19 2023: Manipur Chapter of Khelo India Dus Ka Dum Women's Judo Championship was held today at SAI Indoor Stadium, Takyelpat under the aegis of Manipur Judo Association.

Dr IK Muivah, IGP, Manipur; Bijoy Koijam, working president, Manipur Judo Association and Olympian Judoka Likmabam Sushila attended the opening function of the championship as chief guest, functional president and special guest.

Event highlight
Anjali of MLSA beat compatriot Maloti to win the senior women's -48 kg category title as Helen of SAI beat Anjana of IMJA for the -52 kg title.

The -57 kg category gold medal went to Chaoba of SAI after beating Sunandi of MLSA in the final as Melody of IMJA beat Sobhasini of SAI for the -63 kg category title.

Bipilia Yumnam of MLSA, L Roshni of MLSA and Gangarani of MPSC finished on top respectively in the -70, -78 and +78 kg categories.

In sub-junior girls' competition, Olivia of MLSA beat Chingkheinganbi for the -40 kg category gold as Aeli of UJA beat Kananbala of MLSA for the -44 kg category title.

Alish of UJA in the meantime bagged the -48 kg category gold beating Kiranbala of BBA while Nungshithoi of BBA fetched the -52 kg category gold beating Helena of UJA.

Manipur Leima of MLSA was able to win the -36 kg category gold by getting better of Victoria of UJA while Monalisha of MLSA won the -32 kg category gold.

Monika of MLSA clinched the age group's (Sub-Junior) +57 kg category gold topping Didika of UJA in the final while the -57 kg category gold went to Lovely of SAI who got the better of Nongalleima of MLSA in the final.

The -44 kg junior girls gold medal went to SAI's Roshibina who beat her compatriot Silky before Maloti of MLSA beat compatriot Anjali for the -48 kg category title.

Helen of SAI won the -52 kg category gold beating Arti of MLSA before Athoibi of MLSA claimed the -57 kg category gold overcoming her compatriot Sunandi in the final.

The -63 kg category title went to Sobhasini of SAI who beat Melody in the final as Bipilia Yumnam of MLSA, Guguria of MLSA and M Sanjana of SAI won the -70, -78 kg and +78 kg category gold medals respectively.

In the cadet category competition, L Daiya of UJA took the -44 kg category gold beating Bidyaluxmi of Imphal East; Maloti of MLSA beat Helen of SAI for the -48 kg crown; Arti of MLSA beat Roshibina of NSA for -52 kg title; Rashitombi of SAI beat Athoibi of MLSA for the -57 kg title and Anu of NSA beat N Dayarni of Imphal East for the -40 kg title.

N Melody, Y bipilia of MLSA and H Sanjana of SAI in the meantime bagged the gold medals in the -63 kg, -70 kg and +70 kg category competitions of the same age group (Cadet) .
