Imphal, August 18 2024: Wairokpam Aditya of Radiant and Soram Rani of MPSC were declared champions of champions in the TYC Open State Level Armwrestling championships hosted by Top Youth Club, Imphal East today.

As many as 98 athletes including 20 women participated in the championship held under the aegis of Manipur Armwrestling Association.

Aditya topped the men's 80+ kg competition today to seal the top honour as Mutum Jibam of TYC and Kangjam Surjit of IMA finished second and third.

Meanwhile, Soram Rani topped the women's 70 kg competition to remain in contention for the women's champion of the champions.

Compatriot Chungkham Parbati and Bilinda Oinam of Thoubal finished second and third in the same weight category.

Other results

Thangjam Henthoi of Chalou Club and RK Tamphasana of MPSC were crowned women's 50 kg and 55 kg champions as Wangkhem Victoria of Sanjasthan Club, Leishanthem Inaobi of NLC and Mangsatabam Memcha of MPSC emerged winners in the 60 kg, 80 kg and 80+ kg categories.

Darwin Kongkham, meanwhile emerged men's 50 kg champion as Mangol Angomjamba of NMC finished on top of the 55 kg category event competed by 25 athletes.

Gurumayum Rohit Sharma of Royal Gym in the meantime registered the 70 kg category title as Md Kalam of TYC secured the 80 kg title.

Men's 60 kg category title went to Okram Geetson of EC as Bimesh Laishram of Manipur Arm Wrestling Assn and Leimapokpam Bidyajit of YWA finished second and third.
