Imphal, April 18 2026: Manipur's Lairenlakpam Ambekar, Chirom Joyshree and Longjam Radhamani who shone at the U-19 World Boxing Futures Cup 2026,Bangkok last month are assured ofat least a silver medal at the 8th Youth (U-19) Na-tional Boxing Championships being underway at Don Bosco University, Guwahati, Assam.

The State trio who con-tributed three of five medals at the Bangkok event secured semi-final victories to make it to the final today.

Ambekar, who brought home a silver medal from the Bangkok competition, will play Priyanshu Varma of Uttarakhand in the youth men's 50 kg category title clash tomorrow while Joyshree Chirom, who also won a silver at the same event, will play Jannat of Haryana in the women's 54 kg category final.

Radhamani Longjam, who settled for a bronze medal at the Bangkok event, will meanwhile take on Prachi of SSCB for the women's 57 kg category title.
