4th MNCA Superplate Tournament : S Robinson, Ng Bishwash shine as YWC-L script third win on trot

Imphal, December 16 2024: YWC, Langthabal (YWC-L) trounced KASC, Khomidok by 151 runs for the third straight Group B victory in the ongoing 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament at Moijing Public Ground today.

Seram Robinson 90 off 72 balls (11 fours and 1 six), Jiko Sorokhaibam 65 off 65 balls (9 fours) and Ngangbam Bikramjit 56 off 32 balls (7 fours and 1 six) all scored half centuries to inspire YWC-L to a huge total of 265/5 in 30 overs after they won the toss and elected to bat first.

Ngangbam Bishwash (4/21 in 5.1 overs), P Prashantamani (2/24 in 6 overs) and Yumnam Chingkhei (2/25 in 6 overs) then combined well to dismantle KASC line up and dismissed them for 114 runs in 29.1 overs.

For KASC, WM Rajak picked two wickets (2/59) before Md Ali Karim (28) and WM Rajak (21) led the scoring in a forgettable chase.

Robinson who was 10 runs away from making a century was adjudged player of the match.

Elsewhere at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai returned to winning ways in the Group A competition by pulling off a 30-run victory against FORCE, Kshetrigao thanks to Mutum Jodiba.

CDCC opted to bat first and rode on major contributions from Mutum Jodiba 39, Konjengbam Monish 26 and Ksh Robert 25 to post 193/10 in 35 overs before bowling out FORCE for 163 runs in 29 overs through a concerted bowling effort from Mutum Jodiba (3/36), Khurshid Alam (2/18), Mandingbam Surjit (2/ 27) and Thoudam Monet (2/44) .

For FORCE, Md Islauddin enjoyed a three wicket haul (3/28) but the batting department faltered in the chase despite Saddam Ahmed Shah's 33-ball 45, Shamirul Haque's 29 and Md Kabir Ahmed's 22 .

Jodiba who produced an all-round performance was adjudged player of the match.
