Imphal, August 16 2025: The two-day "Thang-Ta Teachers' Workshop 2025" organised by the Huy el Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur kicked off today at Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai.

The workshop was formally opened in the presence of Oja Huidrom Premkumar, president, Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association who also welcomed all the teachers and instructors from various schools and institutes across Manipur.

Speaking at the event, Huidrom Premkumar highlighted the remarkable journey of Thang-Ta, tracing its integration into the educational curriculum from school level to university levels.

He attributed this achievement to the tireless efforts and unwavering support of Thang-Ta activists, enthusiasts, and masters of this ancient indigenous martial art form.

It is indeed a proud moment for all Thang-Ta practitioners that the discipline has entered such a high academic level from merely a martial art form, he said.

He expressed hope that the workshop would prove highly beneficial for teachers and instructors, enabling them to enhance their skills, gain deeper insights, and rectify minor errors.

Additionally, he anticipated that the workshop would bridge the communication gap among all participants, fostering a more cohesive and effective learning environment.

Notably, as many as 30 teachers and instructors from Bishnupur, Imphal West, Imphal East and Thoubal are partaking in the workshop.
