10th MNCA Plate Tournament : KCDO bounce back with 151-run thrashing of YPHUC for fourth win

Imphal, December 15 2025: KCDO, Kongpal rode on brilliant display from top order batters to thrash YPHUC, Lalambung by 151 runs for the fourth Group A win in the ongoing 10th MNCA Plate Tournament at Moijing Public Ground.

KCDO amassed a commanding total of 281 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 32 overs after electing to bat first and restricted YPHUC to 130/5 to return to winning ways after going down to YAC in the previous outing.

KCDO got off to a solid start with Bikram Phandom 45 off 23 and Devendro 45 off 48 providing a 79-run partnership for the first wicket in just 6.5 overs before Gold anchored with an unbeaten 95 off 76 balls and took the team the commanding total with Hemjit 24 off 12 on the other end of the crease.

S Rustam (2/41), S Ishwarchandra (1/52), S Amitakanta (1/36), and Irom Ishor (1/35) were among the wickets for YPHUC in the first innings before Chandrakumar's fighting 55 off 81 went in vain.

Konsam Mangal also put up a fighting 39 off 85 in the second innings that saw Bony claiming three wickets (3/23) for KCDO .

Mandingbam Surjit (1/14) and Mutum Jodiba (1/38) also picked up a wicket apiece in this innings for KCDO.

Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, MPA, Thounaojam beat SSU, Singjamei Kakwa by 34 runs for the second Group B win in five matches.

MPA raised 179/8 in the allotted 35 overs after electing to bat first and bundled out SSU for 145 runs in 30.2 overs riding on Yumnam Sheiteendra (3/18), Huidrom Dhanashyam (3/27), and Chingtham Albish (2/19).Huidrom Guneshwor 33 off 91, Elangbam Rohit 28 not out off 33, Y Sheiteendra 25 off 36 led the scoring for MPA earlier in the first innings that saw Bollanath (3/ 18), Naorem Johnson (2/36), and Ningombam Sanjoy (2/ 29) sharing 7 wickets for SSU.

In reply, S Bideshwor 32 off 33, Ningombam Sanjoy 28 off 28, Anand Mangang 17 off 17, S Douglas 15 off 31, and Naorem Johnson 14 off 21 were the only double digit run getters for SSU in a lost cause.
