Meira to clash with YAC in final of Kh Ibungoyaima Men Veteran Hockey tourney

Meira, Bashikhong will play YAC, Yaiskul in the final of 4th Khumukcham Ibungoyaima Singh Memorial Men Veteran Hockey tournament 2019 on June 16 at 2.30 pm, which was organized under the aegis of Manipur Veteran Hockey Association under the sponsorship of Khumukcham Ongbi Leoni Devi Memorial Trust, Khoyathong since June 2 with the participation of 5 veteran men team at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak.
The final match will be graced by L Lokeshor Singh, Mayor Imphal Municipal Corporation; P Nilkomol, senior vice-president, Manipur Veteran Hockey Association; K Mobi Singh, president Indoor Hockey Association, Manipur; Th Arunkumar, Proprietor Arun Enterprises and A Deepchandra Sharma, Junior Engineer Manipur Police Housing Corporation as presidium members.

In today's first semifinal, Meira Bashikhong edged past Cosmo Wangkhei 1-0 to meet YAC, Yaiskul, which has thrashed Hockey Union, Leirikyengbam Leikai 8-2 in the second semifinal today, in the final.
In the 1st semifinal, both Meira Bashikhong and Cosmo Wangkhei played an evenly constested match during which Cosmo Wankhei were awarded 4 penalty corners but they failed to convert any of those into goals.
In the first quarter of the match, N Sunil handed the first goal for Meira Bashikhong in the 8th minute.
In reply, Cosmo Wangkhei tried hard to equalise the goal but the defenders of Meira Bashikhong thwarted all their attempts till the final whistle.
Defender N Gunamani of Meira Bashikhong was adjudged player of the first semifinal match.
In the second semifinal, YAC Yaiskul decimated Hockey Union Leirikyengbam Leikai 8-2.The match started with goalless first quarter but YAC scored eight goals after 2nd half through S Tarun (26'), L Lolindro (28'), Ch Sanjit (33', 54'), Kh Priyokumar (36', 46'), S Rajendro (48') and P Santosh (58').For Hockey Union, N Jiteshor (50') and P Hemjit (57') scored two goals in the match.
Goalkeeper Ksh Romesh of Hockey Union walked away with the player of the match award.
