World Bodybuilding Championship athletes return to warm reception

Imphal, November 13 2024: The All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) today accorded a warm reception to State athletes who represented India at the 15th World Bodybuilding and Physique Championship 2024 as they landed here at Imphal International Airport today.

Notably as many as five State athletes participated at the world championship held from November 5 to 11 at Canareef Resort, Maldives.

In the championship, Manipur's Th Yaisana earned India a gold medal in the junior men's upto 75 kg category gold medal while Sakibur Yumkhaibam and Kh Rishikanta bagged a silver and a bronze medal respectively in the junior men's above 75 kg category bodybuilding competition.

Meanwhile Maradona Kshetrimayum missed a medal as he finished fourth in the senior men's upto 90 kg category bodybuilding competition as Joyjeet Waikhom finished fourth in the men's athletic physique competition for athletes upto 167 cm.

Th Yaisana and Joyjeet Waikhom train at Royal Gym, Ningomthong while Sakibur trains at 3 Brothers, Porompat; Rishikanta trains at Friend Fitness Gym, Tera and Maradona trains at Muscle Factory, Kakching.
