Romajit, Sophiya fastest in Athoubasingee Khongul Leeba 1st State Level Half Marathon

Imphal, August 13 2026: Kh Romajit and Tongbram Sophiya claimed the men's and women's top honours in the Athoubasingee Khongul Leeba 1st State Level Half Marathon organised by Patriots' Day Observance Committee, Manipur under the aegis of the Athletics Association of Manipur on the occasion of the Patriots' Day.

The half marathon was flagged off from Thoubal Mela Ground and culminated at historic Heecham Yaicham Pat.

In the men's segment, Kh Romajit of Khundrakpam took 1 hours, 8 minutes and 41 seconds (1:08:41) to finish first as Kh Zabed Hussain of Lilong finished second in 1:11:53 and Thotcheiin Hunphun Luiyi of Thawai Village finished third in 1:12:27 .

Ningombam Pholendro (1:16:28), Moirangthem Manithoi (1:17:51), Mashunngam Muinao (1:20:27), Yumnam Berlin (1:21:09), Thongam Mahesh (1:21:38), Ph Abazuddin (1:22:03) and Kongjengbam Robert (1:22:38) also made it to the top 10 finishes.

Meanwhile, Tongbram Sophiya of Nambol took the best time of 1:32:32 to complete the course among in the women's segment as Thounaojam Mariya of Haoreibi (1:33:11) and MK Minarashi of Yairipok (1:33:57) made 2-3 finishes.

Thangjam Nigeeta (1:34:35), Ningthoujam Diviya (1:47:33), Pipakhurim Dangshawa (1:49:07), Sougrakpam Lanchenbi (1:53:34), Chesam Rabiya (2:08:50), Heirangkhongjam Krishtina (2:18:23) and Lucky Leishangthem (2:30:03) were among athletes who finished in 4th to 10th place.

Top three athletes in both the segments were feted with cash prize of Rs 30,000; Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively as 4-10th place finishers were feted with Rs 500 each.
