Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, March 13 2022: YWC, Langthabal and RULE, Malom were able to notch up their fourth straight victories in the ongoing 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament today.

YWC cruised to their fourth win on the trot in Group A competition beating PTCC, Patsoi Part III by 6 wickets at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, Khamnam Bazar courtesy Seram Robinson's all round performance.

PTCC opted to bat first but bundled out for 107 within 33.1 overs as YWC bowlers impressed with their bowling performance.

PTCC got off to a dismal start losing three wickets for 18 runs within 9 overs as skipper Andyroshan got run out on 5 before pace-spin duo of Seram Robinson and Soubam Robinson removed Yambem Kaikuyaima on 1 and Paonam Championship Singh on 6 respectively.

Off break bowler L Dinachandra further dented PTCC's cause removing Sohail Akram on 13 to make it 42-4 in 13.3 overs before Mangshatabam Veekash Meitei got edged to Jiko on Maibam Subash bowling the next over. Hijam Hemachandra (33) and Dominic Moirangthem (13) gave PTCC some respite but Ngangbam Bishwash removed both to finish with the best bowling figures of 2/12 in 6 overs.

Dinachandra also completed his two wicket haul for 23 runs in 8 overs which contained 3 maiden overs by removing Deepak on lbw duck to make it 99/9 in 29.2 overs before Leishangthem Bishorjit sent Thangjam Mocha packing on 6 to wrap up the innings.

In the chase, YWC took 28.3 overs and lost 4 wickets to post a winning 111 thanks to an unbeaten knock of 42 runs by Seram Robinson.

Ngangbam Bikramjit (20), Ngangbam Bishwash (11), Jiko Sorokhaibam (8) and Ngangbam Bingson (9 not out) also contributed in the YWC's fourth victory.

PTCC's Deepak did well to pick up three wickets but his effort went in vain as their total was too low for YWC to chase. Seram Robinson who topscored for YWC and picked up a wicket earlier in PTCC innings was adjudged man of the match.

RULE beat MPSC by three wickets
Fierce bowling performances from pacer Thokchom Kishan Singh and off break bowler Nongthombam Saroj and all round feat by Jay Singh Haorokcham earned RULE fourth Group B victory here at Langthabal Public Ground today.

Put to bat, MPSC slumped to 103 all out in 34.5 overs as their innings failed to take off despite Sagolshem Sunil's effort.

Even as MPSC held on earlier, Thokchom Kishan caught and bowled Gelson Singh on 6 before Nongthombam Sarojkumar removed Taorem Jeem Singh (3) and Potsangbam Bonem (0) back to back in the 3rd and the 4th deliveries of the 14th over to reduce them to 35/3 .

MPSC were 58/4 after 19 overs with the fall of Sagolshem Sunil (37) to Nongthombam Denin.

Sanjenbam Ananda then trapped Keisham Kennedy lbw on 18 to pile more pressure on MPSC before star of the day, Jay Singh Haorokcham snared two of his wickets in the form of Ngangom Sudesh (0) and Sarangthem Shangker Singh (9) to reduce make it 87/7 in 29 overs for MPSC.

Sarojkumar then completed his treble bowling out Soubam Kingson on 1 and Thokchom Kishan swept the tailenders Laishram Kipajan (19) and Oinam Rojit Singh (0) to restrict MPSC to 103 within 34.5 overs.

In the chase, RULE got off to a stuttering start but Jay Singh stood firm to clobber 2 fours and 1 six on the way to his knock of 46 runs and Rajkumar Herachandra added 24 runs to take the chase to a sniffing distance of a win.

Sanjenbam Ananda (8 not out) then led RULE to winning 104 total in the 35.2 overs with three wickets left in the hand.

Indrabam S Koijam (3/17 in 8 overs) and Keisham Kennedy (3/18 in 8 overs) also bowled well but could not deter RULE from securing the three wicket win.

Jay Singh Haorokcham who gathered 46 runs and picked up two wickets for 24 runs in 8 overs was named man of the match.
