Imphal, February 13 2025: AMCA, Thoubal and RCA, Lilong cruised to their fourth group stage wins on the trot to confirm their pre-quarterfinal tickets in the 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament 2024-25 being organised by the Manipur Cricket Association.

At Kongba Dhobi Lampak, AMCA eased to their fourth Group A win by beating CYSA, Khangabok by 167 runs thanks to Hanif's allround performance.

Electing to bat first, AMCA started their innings on a shaky note and slipped to 66/4 in 8 overs as N Abungcha and W Khursijafar picked a wicket apiece and Moirangthem Sanathoi removed both Md Sarif and Kh Fariyaz in the 8th over.

Hanif and Moichingmayum Md Yakin however forged a massive 133-run partnership for the 5th wicket to change the complexion of the innings before Hanif was caught and bowled by Phundreimayum Soheb on 83 (off 44 balls; 6 fours and 1 six) .

W Khursijafar then bowled out Yakin on a 35-ball 44 for the 6th wicket in the 1st delivery of the 21st over before getting rid of Sahid Khulakpam and Moichingmayum Imran Hassan on ducks in the 2nd and fifth delivery of the same over to complete his fourth wicket haul (4/46) .

Soheb then undone Maibam Anish and Md Wajid Khan to bowl AMCA out for 226 runs in 24 overs.

The total however proved too big for CYSA as they slumped to 59 all out in 12.1 overs as Hanif (4/31 in 5 overs), Khulakpam Fariyaz (2/13) and Md Wajid Khan (2/4) shared 8 crucial wickets.

Hanif was eventually adjudged player of the match.

Meanwhile in a Group B match staged at PTRC ground, Patsoi Part IV, RCA crushed TCMDC, Thongju Part II, Pechu Lampak by 142 runs to extend their winning streak to four games.

RCA racked up 235 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 27 overs after opting to bat first as skipper Syed Sami Ul led the way with a 75-ball 73 (11 fours) and Nongjaimayum Masud Alam 38 and Khutheibam Mutajid Akter 23 made significant contributions apart from 57 extras.

TCMDC's Nongshaba Sapam (2/56), Chandrasekhar Sharma (1/13), Sagolsem Bolyson (1/39) and Dipachanra Sagolshem (1/35) were among the wickets in this innings.

Chasing 236 for the win, TCMDC faltered badly and were restricted to 93/8 in 27 overs as RCA bowlers were too economical.

Yumnam Tomthinnganba 14, S Bolyson 11 and S Nongshaba 12 were the double digit run getter for TMCDC in the innings that also saw Farhan Ahmed returning with a haul of three wickets (3/9) .

Md Irfan and Kh Mutahid Akhter also picked a wicket apiece for RCA.

Syed Sami Ul was adjudged player of the match.

Elsewhere at Khudeiband Lampak in Taothong, PTCC, Patsoi Part III beat YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel by 28 runs for the second win in four Group C matches.

Toss winners PTCC amassed 249 runs for 9 wickets in 30 overs and restricted spirited YUCC to 221 runs for 8 wickets to earn the win.

Somobanta (76 off 47 balls; 11 fours and 2 sixes) and Polenjit Mayengbam (50 off 38 balls; 8 fours) knocked half centuries in PTCC's innings which also witnessed Salam Trivankar (3/28), Jaheer (3/28) and Rajbir Khumanthem (2/50) sharing 8 wickets for YUCC.

YUCC's Mayangmayum Md Alfash (64 off 67 balls; 9 fours) and Rajbir Khumanthem (70 off 62 balls; 7 fours and 1 six) also struck half centuries in the chase but their efforts fell short as other batters departed cheaply.

Hirachandra (3/36) and Nungchengbam Salam (2/27) led the bowling attack for PTCC as Harishor Mayengbam and Lanngamba Ningombam picked a wicket apiece.

Hirachandra who contributed 26 runs and picked three wickets was eventually adjudged player of the match.
