IE District Boxing Championship : Nongada Boxing Academy crowned overall team champions

Imphal, July 12 2026: Nongada Boxing Academy (NBA) were crowned as the overall team champions of the 9th Imphal East District and 1st Master Boys and Girls Boxing Championship, 2026 .

The championship was jointly organised by the Imphal East District Amateur Boxing Association and Thongju Sporting Club, Thongju Part II from July 9 at Thongju Sporting Club's Complex.

NBA sealed the overall team title by securing the highest 69 points as National Sports Academy finished overall team runners up on 46 points.

The championship was formally closed in the presence of Prof Dr Khumukcham Tomba, Registrar NIT; Leishangthem Ibomcha, Dronacharya Awardee in Boxing; Arambam Dhaneshwor, Superintendent of Central Goods and Services Tax among others.

The final day of the championship saw M Nixon of RCC securing the Elite Men's 50 kg category gold without breaking a sweat as his opponent NG Jaichandra of NBA did not turn up.

NBA's K Thoungamba meanwhile earned the U-19 boys' 65 kg category title by defeating T Helion of RCC in the final as the 60 kg category title went to RCC's L Mangalsana who got the better of S Chinglemba of THSC via RSC in the second round.

In the U17 boys' 70 kg category final, MKRBF's Ph Vickson got the better of RCC's Ng Samson 5-0 via unanimous decision as 66 kg category title went to NSA's Kh Lanchenba who sealed an RSC win against THSC's Dhanabir in the third round.

Earlier in the day, NSA's Kh Anamika Chanu bagged the 52 kg category title for U-15 girls by overwhelming NBA's Th Inakhunbi 5-0 in the final bout.
