Imphal, April 11 2025: THAU, Thangmeiband are assured of a semi-final ticket in the 1st MNCA U-23 Women's One Day Trophy as they crushed TCMDC, Thongju by 10 wickets for the fourth straight Group A victory today.

THAU who had beaten Al-Ameen, AKSDO, and YPHUC in their previous matches, carried forward their momentum today to restrict toss winners TCMDC to a paltry total of 118/8 in the allotted 35 overs thanks to Kongjengbam Nonibala and chased down the target for no loss within 25.4 overs courtesy of Usham Robeni and Salam Nganthoi to stretch the winning run.

Electing to bat first, TCMDC faced double whammy losing both the openers on ducks within first 7 deliveries to Hijam Malemkhombi and Pungmayum Milky.

From 0/2, Thongam Sothoi and Thoudam Ningthoisana forged 60 runs in 13.1 overs to revive the innings but Kongjengbam Nonibala broke the partnership by removing Ningthoisana on 36 for the third wicket in the 15th over.

Nonibala further reduced TCMDC to 66/4 by getting rid of incoming Thongam Belina in the 19th over before Moirangthem Creety joined the fray and bowled out Sothoi on 17 for the fourth wicket.

Nonibala further dented TCMDC hopes by bowling out L Adhumika on duck and L Sushima on 4 to leave the team struggling at 101/7 and complete her haul of four wickets (4/14 in 7 overs) .

Creety then removed L Lanchenbi on duck to further reduce TCMDC to 106/8 but Yensembam Nikita held on with an unbeaten 18 off 42 balls to help the team post 118/8.Creety returned with the bowling figures of 5-1-8-2 (2 wickets for 8 runs in 5 overs that include a maiden) .

In reply, Robeni led the way by adding 48 off 87 balls (3 fours) while Nganthoi able assisted her with a 71-ball 33 (3 fours) to forge 119 runs and seal the victory for THAU without any loss.

K Nonibala who picked four wickets to derail the TCMDC innings was adjudged player of the match.
