Imphal, December 10 2025: Wayenbam Indrakumar scored an unbeaten 68 off 62 balls to steer YAC, Yaiskul past KCDO, Kongpal by 4 wickets in a Group A match of the ongoing 10th MNCA plate Tournament at Lairenjam Public Ground.

It was the third win for YAC in four matches and first loss for KCDO in the four matches.

Riding on the opening 77-run stand between Phamdom Bikram 45 off 63 and Gold 30 off 29 and valiant late effort from Surjit 35 off 43, toss winners KCDO posted a competitive total of 187 runs for all wickets down in 34.3 overs.

YAC, however, chased down the target in 33.4 overs as Wayenbam Indrakumar, who came in at number 3, anchored with an unbeaten 68 on the back of 7 fours and 2 sixes in 62 balls to take the team to the target.

Earlier, O Kishan 28 off 53 and Nehru 23 off 32 forged a 44-run partnership for the first wicket before Indrakumar and Krishnananda 34 off 62 forged a remarkable 81-run partnership for the fifth wicket to take YAC to sniffing distance of a win despite Konsam Netajit of KSDO proving fatal with the ball.

O Kiran 2/33, W Indrakumar 2/19, Singhajit Sharma 1/30, O John 1/46, and Thokchom Nedhiraj 1/15 were among the wickets for YAC in the first innings as Netajit returned with the best bowling figures of 4/42 for KSDO.

Indrakumar, who shone with both the bat and ball, was adjudged player of the match.

Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, MPA, Thounaojam ended their three game losing run in the Group B competition by beating KIYC, Kshetrigao by 47 runs.

Asked to bat first, MPA raised a respectable total of 188 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 30 overs and bowled out toss winners KIYC for 141 runs in 27.3 overs riding on effective bowling performances from Athokpam Johny (4/24 in 5.3 overs), Yumnam Sheiteendra (3/25), Naorem Britain (2/14) and Huidrom Guneshwor (1/24) .

MPA did not have the best of the start and slumped to 66/3 in 15.4 overs despite Th Chinglensana's fight 34 off 43 balls before Chongtham Sitaranjan 36 off 48 and Soram Naoboy 32 off 23 steadied the innings.

Elangbam Rohit 40 off 20 and Ch Muhinikanta 3 off 3 were unbeaten for the 7th wicket as MPA folded up their innings at 188/6 .

Mv Md Aman (3/22) returned with the best bowling figures for KIYC as Md Abdul Hamid, Ahanthem Mangesh and Md Kaosar shared three other wickets.

In reply, Ahanthem Mangesh 45 off 55 (5 fours), Md Subhanuddin 41 off 46 (6 fours) did their best but their efforts were not enough in the face of MPA's disciplined bowlers.

It was the third straight loss for KIYC in the Group B league competition after the opening game victory against Sagolband United.

There will be no matches on December 11 and 12 .
