Imphal, September 09 2025: State's swimming prodigy Aavya Khomdram does it again.

Eight year old Aavya Khomdram, an 8-year-old Manipuri girl, has once again made Manipur and India proud by securing the 2nd runner-up position at the Asian Open Schools Invitational Swimming Championships 2025 .

The championships was held from September 6 to 7 at the Assumption University Aquatic Centre in Suvamabhumi Campus in Bangkok, Thailand.

Aavya who starred with 3 gold medals last year at the same event, bettered her performances and secured 9 medals including 4 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze to amass a total score of 206 points.

With the score, Aavya who is the daughter of Dr Amarjit Khomdram and Bonny Khomdram from Haobam Marak Irom Leikai, outshone 149 other participants from 18 Asian Nations.

Currently residing in Hyderabad, she studies in the 3rd standard at Sanghamitra School, Telangana.

She has been training under the guidance of renowned coach John Siddiqui at Zions Sportz Swimming Academy, Bowrampet, for the past 4-5 years.
