Kshetri Iril Mapal Youth Club (KIYC), Kshetri Awang Leikai ended their two game losing streak in the 2nd Premier League Round 2 (Group C) by beating United Chandel FC (UCFC) 2-1 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong this afternoon.
Having suffered back to back 1-2 losses to ASUFII FA and SU in the previous matches, KIYC sealed the victory and ended UCFC's two game winning run courtesy of goals from Md Isra Khan and Yumnam Monis.
Isra Khan found the lead after 25 minutes before Yumnam Monis doubled the advantage at the stroke of the hour mark.
UCFC who have been in red hot form had to rue their missed chances in the opening half and kept struggling to reduce the arrears in the second half.
Although KIYC managed to thwart them away for a major portion of the game, Pebam Linthoingamba helped UCFC pull back a goal after 73 minutes but their comeback effort did not materialise and eventually KIYC walked away with all three points.
Later in another Group C match, ASUFII FA rode on Wangkheirakpam John's stoppage time goal to beat YSWA, Utlou 3-2 .
ASUFII FA, having won 2-1 against KIYC and lost 0-1 to UDO, enjoyed a slender 1 -0 first half lead courtesy of Md Nawaz Sharif's 20th minute goal.
Four minutes after the breather, Mathanmi Ningshen doubled the advantage for the Mao team before YSWA fought back and drew level through two quick goals from Goldenson Japui (83') and Chanam Chinglen Meitei (85') .
When the game almost looked to end in a 2-2 draw, Wangkheirakpam John found the winner two minutes into the stoppage time leaving not much time for YSWA to mount their way back into the game.
