Japhou YC, Chandel Christian YC triumph in DC Chandel Trophy 1st Divn Football League

Imphal, September 08 2025: Japhou YC and Chandel Christian YC secured their first victories in DC Chandel Trophy 1st DivisionFootball League being organised by the District Sports Association Chandel at Sports Complex, Chandel Christian.

Having drawn 5-5 with Chakpikarong YC in the opening encounter, Japhou YC beat Cheengkhu YCC by 3-2 goals to open their winning account.

Strongam opened the scoring for the winners early in the 6th minute but Cheengkhu YCC drew level in the 34th minute through Pholminthang.

Cheengkhu YCC went ahead when Japhou YC's Motilal conceded an own goal in the 37th minute but Japhou YC rallied back with Roger scoring the equaliser in the 51st minute before Ningbung sealed the victory deep into the stoppage time (90+7') .

Later in the day, Rucho scored in the 75th minute to earn Chandel Christian YC a 1-0 win over Liwa Khullen YC .

Chandel Christian YC had earlier played out a 1-1 draw with Damjol YC in the league opener.
