Stage set for pre-quarterfinals of 3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy

The prequarterfinal line up of the 3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy was completed today with the conclusion of the league round.
The day saw ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound; Model Club, Singjamei and PCC, Mayai Koibi complete the league stage sweep to finish Group A, B and C winners.
At Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, ESU beat CYCLONE, Thangmeiband by 42 runs to end their group campaign with 4 wins with one match having been abandoned due to rain.
Toss winners ESU were bundled out for 139/10 in 29 overs with Sougaijam Robinson (5/34), Thomsan Moirangthem (2/27) and Ksh Rishi (2/23) doing the demolition work for CYCLONE.
CYCLONE however slumped to 97 all out in 24.1 overs as Thokchom Simesh (3/33), Khundrakpam Bishomcha (3/36) and Soibam Sayonba (2/7) over ESU producing more better bowling performance.
Earlier in the first innings, Hanjabam Donba 35 and Soibam Venus 29 led the scoring for ESU as Arubam Tyson 14 and Sandham Amar 13 emerged the leading scorers for CYCLONE.
Thokchom Simesh who added 14 runs and picked three wickets for ESU was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, PCC completed their five of five group stage victory by thrasing TRAU by 174 runs as Takhelmayum Vikash produced an all round feat.
PCC opted to bat first and racked up a commanding total of 285 runs for all wickets down in 33.4 overs courtesy of half century quickfires from Takhemayum Vikash 91 off 52 and Kangujam Boocker 79 off 33.Takhelmayum Vikash then enjoyed a fifer conceding just 7 runs in his spell of 3.5 overs to set up TRAU collapse at 111 in 29.5 overs with the assistance of Mairembam Lucky (2/19).Huiningshumbam Luching (4/54) had earlier led the TRAU bowling attack before Loitongbam Ishorchandra 18 off 25 emerged the highest run getter for the team in the chase.
Vikash was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Meanwhile at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong, Model Club beat SHADOW, Thangmeiband by 4 wickets to finish Group B winners courtesy of an allround performance from Ningombam Bisal.
SHADOW were dismissed for 166 runs in 36.1 overs despite Sagatpam Lanchenba's 97-ball 77 as Bishal (3/25), Ashem Bobby (3/35), Naorem Biyon (2/26) and Irungbam Tonton (2/30) wreaked havoc before Bishal anchored with an unbeaten 99 off 86 balls (5 fours and 7 sixes) to steer Model Club to winning 172 .
Sagatpam Telheiba (3/43 in 7.5 overs) and Sagatpam Lanchenba (2/30 in 8 overs) shared 5 wickets in a lost cause for SHADOW in the match.
Bisai was eventually named man of the match.
