46th State Senior Athletics Championship : N William fastest in men's 20 km race walk

Imphal, June 06 2026:
N William claimed the senior men's 20 km race walk gold medal in the 46th State Senior Athletics Championship that kicked off today at Main Stadium, Khuman Lampak under the auspices of the Athletics Association of Manipur.
William clocked 1:28:08 (1 hour, 28 minutes and 8 seconds) to seal the top honour as Kh Pilot (1:30:09) and Jenish Sorokhaibam (1:33:48) bagged the second and third place titles.

In the men's long jump event conducted today, RK Suryajit of PRSC leapt 6.29 m to win the senior men's gold medal as Salam Somananda of BYCL made a 6.18 m leap to settle for the silver medal and L Rakesh recorded a 5.90 m leap to finish third.
MMC's Jangamli Kamei meanwhile bagged the women's long jump gold by recording a 4.51 m leap.
Elangbam Bidyaluxmi (4.30 m) and A Surbala (4.15 m) were second and third.
Thangjam Nigita of MMC was the fastest in the women's race walking as she finished with the best time of 2:07:38 followed by Yumnam Bedarani of PRSC (2:19:56) for second place.
10 km race
Javed Hussain of MMC won the men's 10 km race taking 33:49.63 as PRSC's M Muinao finished second in 34:29.63 and Y Arjit finished third in 34:44.02 .
Tayenjam Russia of MMC meanwhile sealed the women's title by completing the course in 40:03.57 followed by Th Maria of HYC (41:03.33) and Pipa Dangshawa of MMC (42:15.02) .
Shot-Put
Joyhenba Sarungbam of MMC sealed the senior men's shot-put gold with the best throw of 11.70 m as Chanchanrani Mutum of NSU bagged the women's gold by recording 8.39 m throw.
400 m race
The opening day also saw Ksh Jeena of KDAA win the 400 m race for women as she clocked 1:10.80 as Kh Wahid of BYCL sealed the men's title with a time of 49.39 seconds.
100 m race
Yaisana Loktongbam of NSU sprinted her way to the 100 m race gold today in 13.07 seconds as Y Babysana of MMC (13.39 seconds) and Elangbam Bedarani of PRSC (14.22 seconds) finished second and third.
M Dawood Khan of BYCL meanwhile claimed the men's 100 m race gold by clocking 10.44 seconds as K Rahul (10.89 s) and Th Resonath (10.93 s) finished second and third.
