2nd AMFA Cup : United Brothers FC, Classic FA end Group A campaign on high notes

Runaway Group A leaders in the 2nd AMFA Cup, Classic Football Academy (CFA) ended their group campaign with a 4-1 thrashing of Angtha FC today at Mini Stadium Bishnupur.
Substitutes Serto Womeilen Kom and Ganningam Malangmei stole the show as they contributed three goals in the second half to guide CFA to 6th win in 7 matches.
CFA were leading by a goal from Gogocha Chungkham but Angtha FC equalised through Singte George Kom in the 50th minute.
The parity was short-lived as Serto Womeilen Kom who subbed in for Gogocha after the break scored in the 57th minute for CFA before another substitute Ganningam Malangmei quick-fired two goals back to back in the 68th and the 75th minutes.
CFA then clung on to then-lead finish atop the group table on 19 points from 6 wins and 1 draw.
Earlier in the day, United Brothers FC (UBFC) came out all guns blazing to devastate J Songtun Youth Club (JSYC) 6-0.UBFC started the game with a bang as Rungsing Khamrang put the team on the frontfoot just 6 minutes into the game before Nathanael Chilhang hit a brace (11', 23') and Khangampam Zimik netted one in the 34th minute.
After leading the opening half 4-0, UBFC carried forward their momentum and it was Thanghoulen Haokip who pumped in two goals back to back in the 60th and the 83rd minute to complete the 6-0 rout of JSYC.
With the win, UBFC amassed 16 points from 4 wins in 7 group stage matches.
WAFA will play F4C in a Group A match tomorrow from 11.45 am before USA face off against KYVO in a Group B clash from 2.05 pm .
