State U15 Chess C'ship 2026 : Jojo and Rajasmita become girls' joint winners, Lemba wins boys' title

Imphal, October 02 2026: Lemba Sougaijam emerged as the boys' winners in the State U15 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2026 conducted by the Manipur State Chess Association as Nongthombam Jojo and Rajasmita Hanjabam finished joint winners in the girls' segment.

The boys' competition was conducted in the Swiss Round Format and the girls' competition was conducted in the Round Robin Format.

Lemba scored 4 points to secure the pole position in the championship.

Jonex Nandeibam and Dinesh Chabung made 2-3 finishes with the same 3 points with Jonex enjoying Buchholz Cut-1 score (5.5 to 5) while Punsiba Maisnam finished fourth with 2.5 points.

Jojo and Rajasmita meanwhile finished with the same 2.5 points after the Round Robin League match to share the top spot.

Nancy and N Anjelena made 2-3 finishes in the competition.

The top four boys and girls will be representing Manipur in the upcoming National championship to be held from October 12 to 20 at Hyderabad.
